Bord&Stift manifesto
At Bord&Stift we want to make complex matters understandable. We also want to do the right thing. But what exactly is the right thing?
Fortunately, there are more and more people, organizations and companies that inspire us in our search for the answer to that question. That contribute to a better world of tomorrow by making conscious and brave choices. A fairer, cleaner and less divided world.
What connects them is the insight that our current economic system is to blame for many catastrophic problems. For example, the continued focus on growth has led to major climate problems, inequality, and an increase in psychosocial problems.
We do not want to contribute to that.
We want to contribute to the world of tomorrow with the work we do, how we organize ourselves and what we propagate. Of course, as a small business, we cannot overthrow an economic structure, but we can be part of an ever-growing stream of conscious companies. By being true to our values and acting on them.
That is why from January 1, 2021, we will no longer work for companies that contribute to the problems of yesterday’s world.
- Companies with a fundamental lack of sustainability (e.g., oil industry, aviation sector, factory farming)
- Companies promoting excessive consumption (advertising industry, travel industry)
- Companies that enhance inequality
- Companies that invest in unethical matters such as the arms industry or logging (a large part of the banking sector and pension funds)
Not only because we are convinced that there is no place for these companies tomorrow. Also because our heart lies with organizations, companies and institutions that are committed to positive things. To sustainability, equality, education or care & welfare.
That is why we focus even more specifically on five pillars. We further specialize in five areas that fit our values, and where our work has the most value.
- Education
- Health care & Welfare
- Sustainability
- Social domain
- Horizontal organization
